Zenobia Wreck

Zenobia Wreck

Zenobia Diving Centre is a part of A.A.K. Larnaca Napa Cruises, which was established in 1987.
The Zenobia wreck in Larnaka is officially classified as one of the 10 best diving destinations in the world and certainly the best in the Mediterranean!!!

The Swedish ferry, Zenobia, sank on her maiden voyage to Cyprus in June 1980, fully loaded with 104 trailers and trucks, just 1.5 km from the coast, off Larnaka’s fishing harbour, due to a malfunctioning of the high tech computerised pump system, fortunately with no casualties.

It is nearly 200 metres long and remains completely intact. The top of Zenobia is just 16 meters under the water surface and all the trucks can be seen either in the wreck or lying on the seabed close by. One can see the silhouette of the wreck even from the surface. The water visibility is up to 50m, with the temperature ranging from 16° C in the winter to 27° C during the summer.

The wreck initially thought to be a threat for pollution has in fact converted itself into an astonishing artificial reef where local biodiversity grows as a spectacle of nature’s adaptation for years to come.
Zenobia Wreck is an impressive, remarkable dive.

Zenobia Diving Centre has been taking qualified divers to the wreck for over 10 years. A.A.K Larnaca Napa Cruises offer diving courses which are available for both, the experienced divers and the inexperienced (introdive).
They offer to their trainees the following certificates: PADI and BASC.

A.A.K Larnaca Napa Cruises organise diving cruises, which may last from 3 up to 15 days. During this diving safari you have the unique chance to travel along the fantastic coasts of Cyprus.

Throughout these diving facilities you will always be accompanied by their qualified and experienced personnel.
The Zenobia wreck offers extensive diving for all levels of scuba, and can be enjoyed by relatively novice divers under the expert guidance of our qualified guides and instructors, in the warm, clear waters of the Mediterranean.
Annual sea temperatures range from a comfortable 180C in the winter to 280C in the summer months. The Cyprus climate offers all year round diving. Visibility also ranges from 20 meters to an incredible 50 meters in autumn and it is to experience any kind of current whilst diving.

The wreck is also home to schools of fish, including grouper, barracuda and tuna.
Zenobia Wreck is fascinating to explore!!!
